I wasn’t a big fan of my one trip to Yum Mi Express in Wichita, Kansas at 37th & Woodlawn in northeast Wichita. I ordered the Hu Tieu Mi Thap Cam, which is the soup. I also ordered the eggrolls.
As far as the soup, I didn’t feel like the noodles were done correctly (too difficult to chew), the broth didn’t have much flavor and the proteins, and specifically the shrimp, were not cooked well at all…it tasted old.
As far as the eggrolls, they were average.
So do I think it was a “one-off?” Probably and hopefully. I have seen other positive reviews. Will I go back? Absolutely. There is NOTHING I love more than having my mind changed.
Let’s nip a few things in the bud. No, I didn’t ask to talk to a manger. No, I didn’t ask to talk to the cook/chef. No I didn’t ask to talk to the owner. You know why? I’m not a pretentious jerk to anyone but Doug. I try to not make it a big deal when I go in somewhere. And what does doing that change anyway? Do you want to know my opinion about my experience or not?
