Kernza was developed in Salina by The Land Institute by smart scientists. It is basically a perineal intermediate wheatgrass. And Sustain-A-Grain, based out of McPherson, is sort of the connector of Kernza to the farmer.
Anyway, Sustain-A-Grain and Historic Stiefel Theatre in Salina, KS partnered to make a beer called “The 10 ft Roots Golden Ale.” Obviously it is made with Kernza rather than wheat. And it was canned at The FARM & The Odd Fellows out in Minneapolis, Kansas.
It was a great beer! Honestly, I think this beer would have really helped me get through my fourth divorce.
