I reached out to all you Gastroweirdos to figure out where to eat lunch in McPherson Kansas on a Saturday. I got a lot of recommendations, but I think Woodies BBQ Restaurant & Catering was the most cited.
I ordered the Farmer Stacker and thought it was pretty darn tasty and interesting. I chose the hot link as the protein, which I do question if that was the best move. Not because I didn’t enjoy the link, but because a different protein would have been more “cohesive” with the construct of the dish. But I didn’t understand what the sandwich really was until I received my order and I relied on the recommendation of the person that took my order. One of you Gastrofans told me to get the pulled pork on the stacker and I think that would have been a great call. I did get a couple ounces of pulled pork on the side so I can say it was tasty. I just feel like it would really blend in well with all those beans and cheese on the stacker.
On another note, is there another place with a sandwich like this? Seriously, so unique. It’s as if the person that created this sandwich was like “people are gonna eat this ish all together anyway.”
