It’s Sunday, August 2nd and it’s craw time. And you know what’s a stick in my craw? When I go to a restaurant and ask a server for a recommendation and it turns out the server should never have given a recommendation in the first place. The one commonality is that in each of these occasions, the server is 100% confident.
Here are some examples:
Example 1: I am in a very rural town. Mexican restaurant. I ask the server what her favorite dish is. Later, it is revealed that this was her first or second day. Lol

Example 2: One time I ask for a recommendation at a restaurant in Wichita. The young man was so sure that “this dish” was his favorites and best dish. Later, like Example 1, it is revealed that he “doesn’t like the food there” and has never tried any of the food.
Example 3: One time I am at a Chinese restaurant. The server gives me multiple recommendations as her favorite dishes. Her favorite was the beef. I “had to get the beef.” Later, like Example 1 and 2, she unintentionally discloses that she is vegan.
You honestly can’t make this stuff up. But yeah, I thought to myself each and every time “why’d I get your opinion?” And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what is in my craw this Sunday.
