You know, it seems like many I talk to nowadays think it is “doomsday” all the time. It doesn’t matter if they are Republican or Democrat or something else. For different reasons, to them, the world and many of the people in it suck.
I get it. If I watch the bullshit on my social media algorithm, it will make me feel this way too. That all is lost. That people don’t care. But it isn’t true. Not in my experience.
For example, look at the third photo. A ton of people gathered at Kansas Humane Society last night. I was there, sure, but this is not about me. It’s about them. The volunteers. The staff. Busting their asses to make this world a better place. It’s so damn cool. And I am confident it is happening right now in your community as we speak. Your friends, family, neighbors and others, coming together to try and do positive things for the community. Whatever and wherever it might be.
Last night was a reminder to me. It is not lost. People do care and it’s here and has been the whole time. I just don’t always look.
