The Kansas Gastronomist sat down and began to chomp on the Pansit Palabok that was set in front of his incredibly youthful-looking face. Well, youthful-looking for a man in his early to mid to really late 80s.

The location was Kusina Ni Cheska in Wichita, Kansas — a local Filipino restaurant. And his company? Well, it was none other than Fert The Foodie, somebody that TKG referred to affectionately as “da Fertster.”

TKG took another long look at his Filipino noodle dish. It came topped with shrimp gravy, shrimp, smoked fish flakes, pork cracklings and eggs. It was pretty fishy. Almost as fishy as that one time he ran into Gertie (his on-again, off-again gf) out with another guy, and she said that it was just her second cousin. Second cousins don’t kiss like that.

Anyway, he really enjoyed it. The proof was in the noodle dish. After all, most of it was in his belly by the time he had left.

RESTAURANT NOTES: Kusina Ni Cheska is located at 2516 E. Central Ave. Check ‘em out!
