Since 2022, I have been to the Mother’s Day Brunch at Newport Grill in Wichita every year, other than 2024. So four times out of the last five Mother’s Days.
And this year’s brunch buffet was by far my favorite visit. I get it — it’s fresh in my mind, so maybe it just seems that way. But I went and looked at what I posted before and I was really impressed this year compared to some prior years. Many of the dishes I thought were more than excellent.
The shrimp and grits, beef pot roast, country ham casserole, fried green tomatoes, prime rib, smoked salmon and cured gravlax were all on point. I have no critique. In fact the only critique I have is for the crawfish and vegetable dish. The crawfish were overcooked, but I have never seen crawfish hold up on a buffet. It is too difficult just having those crawfish sitting in a burner covered in my opinion. But even the medley the crawfish came with it came with was so delicious.
I am a big fan of seafood, so I am always pumped to check out the brunch buffet at Newport over in. Bradley Fair. It is located in northeast Wichita at E. 21st St. & N. Rock.
