Gastrofreaks, around mid-day recently, I was getting hungry. So, I looked over at Doug (my brother-in-law) and said “I am getting hungry.”
Then we went to Newport Grill in Wichita over at Bradley Fair.
I ended up ordering the Baja Tacos with fries. The tacos came with blackened swordfish, black bean and corn salsa and a fresno crema. Overall I really enjoyed it. My only critique is that I don’t feel like I could taste enough of the fish. I know, I know, swordfish isn’t fishy. But I think probably with swordfish already being such a mild tasting fish, with the addition of the salsa and crema, it just did not allow much of a taste of the swordfish. Perhaps they could try it with the trout? That might be pretty good. I’ll tell you what…Newport Grill, I will gladly be your Guinea Pig.
Anyway, it was still worth getting (especially if you’re not into “fishy-fish”) and also, aren’t those fries just delectable. You can tell they are cut and fried in house. Seasoned super well. A really good order of fries.
