I tried Pizza Farmer, a pop-up in Wichita, Kansas, before just about anybody else, back in December 2025.

The owner, Steve Tucker, preps the pizzas at the Kitchens at Empower (a collaborative commercial kitchen in Wichita). The dough is prepared with flour from the Stafford County Flour Mills in Hudson, Kansas. Also, interestingly enough, his pizza sauce is a secret family recipe. Maybe he’ll tell me? Probably not.

I ordered the Cheese pizza with pepperoni and beef on the side to add when I baked. Since Gertie only likes cheese pizza, l only dressed up half the pizza before I tossed the thing in at 450 degrees for 15-minutes.

And it came out looking beautiful and tasting, well, tasty! I really do like Steve’s sauce and the crust is pretty damn good too.

In addition to take-and-back, if you catch them at the Old Town Farm & Art Market in Old Town Wichita on Saturday mornings, which is where I got my pie, you can order pizzas by the slice that are ready to eat.

I would say I’m a big fan of this pop-up. Great pizza.
