I don’t see near as much love for The Leprechaun’s Lab in Downtown Wichita as I see for some of the other local micro-breweries.
It really is a neat location and has been open for coming up on three years. My view is it does not get as much love because peeps just kind of forget about it with it being fairly small and easy to miss. And also parking is not the best and we all know how Wichitans feel about parking.
I actually ended up chatting with the owner for a spell unbeknownst to him. But he told me about the Mug Club they have. I cannot remember what the annual fee is, but you get a mug of beer that is bigger than the standard pour and it’s $2 less per glass. Pretty cool if you are a fan of the beer here. I ordered the Pilsner, but the owner told me that the beer on the current menu he is most proud of is the “Untouchable Like Elliot Ness.” It’s a California Common with a toasty malt body and an earthy bitterness, with a hint of caramel and fruity lager finesse.
The Leprechaun’s Lab is located at 630 E. Douglas Ave. right across the street from Stoner’s Pizza Joint.
