Lottē in Wichita (320 S. Market St.) did a helluva job last night.
I thought it was pretty nifty having a James Beard award winning chef (Chef Alex Seidel) on hand and crafting so many cool dishes with all the Lotte chefs — Chef Josh Rathbun, Chef de Cuisine Zakk Thomas, Sous Chef Dillon Narcisi and Pastry Chef Heidi Cruz. And did I mention that everything was fantastic ? My personal favorite appetizer was the Roasted Garlic Chickpea Panisse, but they were all fantastic. And the Brandade Agnolotti and the Aged Brunson KC Strip were absolutely incredible. The wine pairings with all the food made for a top tier meal
But you know what I also loved? Fert The Foodie and I sitting at a “community table.” Meeting awesome people that love food. Discussing jobs. Discussing life. Discussing the things that matter.
What the hell is better than all of that?
Lotte, I know you might not appreciate me saying this, but you (or Chef Josh Rathbun) might be the next James Beard winner in Wichita. Knock on wood of course. But when the times comes, I won’t be surprised. I’ll just say — I told you so.
