Look. It’s Senior Citizens Day, so it’s about time you listen to me.
There are two big FREE events happening this Saturday, August 22nd.
First, you have Wichita Forever Festival from 12pm until way too late. It’s literally a shit ton of live music of every genre at multiple venues in Downtown Wichita and other spots. Country, Blues, Hardcore, Hip Hop, Pop-rock, Indie Rock, Garage Rock, EDM and Poetry/Acoustic. All for free ninety-nine.
Second, the 4 The City Block Party at Naftzger Park in Downtown Wichita, put together by Jackstacks.Eats and DJ 4TheWin. There’s free hotdogs from 3pm-5pm and then all the vendors, food trucks and entertainment will be happening from 6pm-10pm. But 10pm is too late for old people on a Saturday.
Don’t say “there’s nothing to do in Wichita,” because if you do, I swear I’ll smack you with the back of my senior citizen hand.
