In pursuit of my support for the Kansas Food Bank during ICT Restaurant Week (September 20-26) I decided to swing by College Hill Deli and Catering in Wichita.
I’ve always felt the name doesn’t really match the food. It’s mostly Mediterranean. Anyway, I went because they are donating 5% of all sales all week to the Kansas Food Bank.
I ordered the Lamb Shank, which was on special. I was told they may have it another day or two, but it is just until they run out. I am telling you this was amazing Lamb Shank. The lamb fell off the bone and was seasoned just right where it was not plain but you could still taste the lamb. And the sauce just worked perfectly. I am not sure what the sauce is, but I would most liken it to a mole or something. It was definitely one of my top meals this year.
College Hill Deli is located close to that theatre in Wichita that some people want to tear down, some people want to keep it the way it is and some people want to expand. So, like, just east of Hillside St. on Douglas Ave.
