FULL DISCLOSURE: I was invited by the Winfield Area Chamber of Commerce to promote Winfield’s Restaurant Week happening April 17th-26th. I was not paid, but was provided $ to pay for meals. This is one of several stops I made along with Bottomless Pit ICT and Lets.Eat.ICT.
Apparently,El Azteca Mexican Restaurant is one of Winfield’s newest restaurants. Also, some local Gastrofreak told me that the owners of El Azteca are the same as the owners of El Maguey. I don’t know. But I was quite impressed with what we ordered. The flautas were excellent — three rolled deep-fried tortillas with shredded chicken, with rice, lettuce, guac and pico de gallo. I didn’t eat much of the Fajita Taco Salad, but my buddy Lets.Eat.ICT commented he had never seen a FAJITA taco salad. He’s probably right. And the salsas were excellent to go with the chips.
Also, by the way, what a COOL building and venue to eat Mexican food in?!?!???
