David and Gloria Romero are the American dream. A couple that immigrates from Mexico in the 1960s and eventually settling in Ulysses, Kansas with their two sons and seven daughters. And what do they do? They start a restaurant called El Ranchito Cafe. In 1968.
And to this day, even though David and Gloria are no longer on earth, the “kids” rotate management of the restaurant every few years.
This was my second visit to El Ranchito. I went the first time around two years ago or so. That time I ordered the green chili and enjoyed it, so I figured I would order that again. But this time for my entree I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I know. I get it. But so many folks recommended trying the cheeseburger and the home cut fries that I had to try. And it was a great and tasty burger. And I enjoyed dipping those fries in the green chili.
