The only thing more fulfilling than beating Fert The Foodie and Wichita By E.B. in a Thumb War competition, is pairing a freshly squeezed orange juice with a “Toad in the Hole” brunch dish (first food photo) and Breakfast Lasagna (second food photo).
Speaking of Wichita By E.B. and Fert the Foodie, we split the Toad in the Hole special during brunch at FioRito Ristorante in Wichita. It comes with sausage and butternut squash, topped with beef and onion gravy, charred onion aioli and egg. The gravy was incredible and I loved this British dish. I hope they do it again soon.
The Breakfast Lasagna came with a pasta spiral, which is a cool presentation, along with bacon, sausage gravy, pickled red onion, Parmesan and a sunny side egg. I was a big fan, but honestly I have never had anything at FioRito (3134 E. Douglas Ave.) that I didn’t love or appreciate. They make some unique and amazing dishes and are always trying something new.
