Sometimes there is a spot on my “to-do list” that has been patiently waiting for years. And then I finally make it and I leave disappointed.
This is not one of those times.
I really enjoyed my meal at Louis Rose Hill Cafe in Rose Hill, Kansas! For those that do not know, Louis Rose Hill Cafe is located just 217 miles southwest of Kansas City and specializes in “home-cookin’.” Exactly what you would think of in a small town cafe. Well, for the most part, with one exception being the Cajun cuisine.
I ordered the Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side of Red Beans & Rice. And then I added a side of the French Fries. I honestly enjoyed all of it without exception. The fries were “potato-y,” which my loyal followers know is important to me. The mashed potatoes were clearly homemade and gravy great. Loved the flavor of the Red Beans & Rice. And the pot roast was very tasty. I’ll definitely go back and would not hesitate to order this exact meal again.
