Pig Phatz BBQ LLC just opened their brick and mortar a week ago in Garden City (210 E. Spruce St.). And I can tell that they will succeed. As well they should.
For those that do not know, Pig Phatz operated the last year or so out of the Main Street Food and Brew Hall in Garden City Downtown. So, though it might be “new,” to some uneducated fools, it has been slinging out great BBQ for awhile.
The restaurant is decorated in an “old school” style. And may I add that the owners are the best! I talked with both Beth and Frank on different occasions during my recent visit. Beth was my server and Frank was back in the kitchen prepping the food. But he checked in with me to see what I thought about the pulled pork that he gave me on the house (as a random traveler — not a food blogger). I thought that was pretty generous.
I think Garden City in Finney County has a nice option for BBQ. I hope it gets plenty of support.
P.S., Frank, I’ll try the fully loaded brisket potato next time. Promise.

FOOD NOTES: I ordered the Pork Belly Burnt End Plate with the Mac & Cheese and Baked Beans, along with the Pulled Pork. All of it was excellent!
