Am I the only one that thinks it’s a little suspicious that Tom, the owner of Tommy’s Apizza (2330 E. Douglas Ave. in Wichita), opened up his restaurant in a building known as “Tom’s Corner?” Suspicious indeed. Kind of makes me wonder if Pizza Tom is one and the same as Corner Tom.
Yeah, yeah. I know peeps will say “But The Kansas Gastronomist, you can see that Corner Tom built that building in 1915. It can’t be that Pizza Tom is Corner Tom.” But I’m here to tell you, there are such things as vampires and has anyone ever actually seen Pizza Tom outside in the sunlight? No. He is always indoors, “making pizza” and “talking to customers.”
Give me a break, Pizza Tom. I’m onto you.
FOOD NOTES: Doug (my brother-in-law) and I ordered a 1/4 pie of the Tommy’s Ah-Beetz, the Pepe Roni and the Wooster (the “cheese” pizza). It’s always so damn good. You don’t need a review.
