Most people do not know this, but “El Pollo” is Spanish and it means “the chicken.”

This was my first time at El Pollo Dorado al Carbón de Wichita in Northern Wichita and I freakin’ LOVED it. It won’t be my last. The pollo (again, that means “chicken”) was cooked perfectly with enough juice to add to the taco flavor profile. And I loved the sauce and cilantro/onion bar to load the tacos up with. I even loved that they have a loudspeaker to announce the orders. What a damn cool experience. Highly recommend it. I’m glad Fert The Foodie had this spot on his 8th Annual Taco Tour!
The Chicken Dorado is located at 128 W. 21st St. North, a block or so west of Broadway & 21st.
